Sandy Rees

Sandy Rees is the CEO of Get Fully Funded, a company she started to help small nonprofits raise money. She tells us that, “I can’t stand to see anyone struggle with fundraising and my personal mission is to help as many people as possible learn how to raise the money they need to fully fund their nonprofit’s good work. My background is in corporate marketing, which leant itself to the work I’m doing now.”

What were your initial years of growing up like? Tell us about your life before starting your corporate journey/venture/initiative.

I grew up in a family that barely had enough money to cover the basic needs, so I know what it’s like to see others have the latest, coolest stuff, and I don’t. I’m sympathetic and empathetic to the plight of others and have a deep desire to help.

Tell us something about your initiative/business or current role. What is it about and how is it helpful for people?

Get Fully Funded helps nonprofits learn how to raise the money they need to fund their programs. We help them change lives, which has a ripple effect, literally all over the world.

What has been the response of the users/consumers towards your venture?

One of the highest compliments we get is when clients want to renew their contracts with us. And it happens a LOT!

How has your life changed because of your initiative/venture?

I have a lot of freedom to do things I want to do – create new products, offer new services, and take time off when I want to. I also get to offer really good jobs to a number of people, which makes my heart very happy.

Do you have anyone who is the biggest support system in your life? Please let us know.

I have 2 friends who are both therapists. One I hike with and we have lots of interesting conversations in the woods! She started a nonprofit a couple of years ago, so we support each other while we walk the trail.

Would you like to share with our young budding women entrepreneurs the change you would like to see in the world if given an opportunity? OR Share a motivational message for the audience/women who are reading this.

I want more nonprofit founders to understand how to fund their dream. And for them to have the encouragement and support to go for their dream!
