Pastor Brenda Davis is the Founder of SOULutions of Recovery.

I believe anyone can heal and it’s my purpose to assist in that healing by giving the truth of who you are, not the labels we give yourself based on life events. What were your initial years of growing up like? Tell us about your life before starting your corporate journey/venture/initiative.
My life growing up wasn’t all that great, I was molested by my mom and my brother at the age of 4 and my parents divorced. My dad kept us kids but my brother never stopped hurting me till I was 11 and told my dad. My dad just couldn’t believe his son would hurt his daughter like that so I was called a liar. I based my life around those events. Most importantly around the meaning I gave myself about the events, like worthless, ruined, and unloved, unwanted. After I told the molesting stopped but it was just the beginning of the self destructive life I was about to live. Did you know that events and things that happen to you don’t mean anything about you .. I didn’t either, until 5 years ago. Drugs and alcohol became my escape goat.
Tell us something about your initiative/business. What is it about and how is it helpful for people?
I have 20 years clean and sober, and my business is all about helping others find their way home to who they really are, past the addiction and past the labels they give themselves ..Together we dig into what created the addiction and the labels we believe to be true about us.. like I felt worthless because of what happened to me and I got to go back in that memory and change what I made it mean about me .. I got to tell myself the truth .. At SOULutions we see you for the amazing loving creation you are .. we see love.. and we give you the tools to remember that your truth also ..
While the global pandemic of COVID-19 is associated primarily with adversities, it has also brought about a true boom in startups, with successful entrepreneurship in many countries. The pandemic has impacted all of us in one way or another. Would you like to share your experience on a personal and professional level?
On a personal level COVID impacted my work life and I became a stay at home grandma so my daughter could continue to work .. It gave me the opportunity to begin planning and opening SOULutions ..
What has been the response of the users/consumers towards your venture?
To be honest it’s been quite a venture , most people have been programmed to believe addiction is forever and you will carry the label addict the rest of your life.. And that’s just not true .. When you heal why you used you can heal addiction completely .. when you heal your belief system about yourself there is no more relapse , no more daily struggle .. When you remember you are in love you have no purpose to self destruct.. Many coming in my program have healed addiction completely .. And are free .. Free to live the life they’ve always dreamed
How has your life changed because of your initiative/venture?
Most impactful change my life has taken is the joy I find in my work now .. The desire to set others free has assisted me in also being free from the jobs I took just to get by .. Now I get to live my purpose and be a light in the lives of those struggling and lost.

My family and God .. God has helped me find the truth of who I am .. And my family gave me the support and remembrance of that truth each time I felt it wasn’t going to work out ..they reminded me of who I am .. Love

Your difference makes a difference .. You are love .. You don’t have to claim any other label than that. You are not the events that’s happened to you and you’re not the meanings you gave those events.. You are worthy and you are love.
