What were your initial years of growing up like? Tell us about your life before starting your corporate journey/venture/initiative.

I grew up without much family around me. It was mainly my mother and me, so I learnt from a very strong woman. You learned to do the things you were expected to do. Go to university, get married, have kids. Have a job – that wasn’t supposed to make you happy, it was just supposed to pay the bills. Everything was emphasized on the importance of hardwork, not on enjoyment and satisfaction. I had no siblings, and I was very academically gifted, so all eyes were on me and I was expected to go to a prestigious university and fall in line with a well paid job in the medical or legal or financial sector. I ended up going to university to study English literature and creative writing. I enjoyed it, but realized very quickly that it wasn’t the right path for me so I ended up going into hospitality and worked in restaurants from the age of 18 whilst studying full time. I moved to London in my 3rd year of university, and commuted in order to work in prestigious London restaurants, and also complete my degree. It was only at the age of 24 that I started to realize that I wanted something different for my life and started studying to be a personal trainer which was the first place my business began.

We are currently building out a Life coaching programme that will run alongside our Health coaching programme. This is for women who want to create extraordinary change in all areas. The Life Collective: Body, Being, Balance and Business for women who want an extraordinary life. I have many speaking engagements coming up, including a keynote speaker at the International Women’s Congress in Paris on International Women’s Day 2023 March 8th and 9th. The remainder of this year is full of creation and systemisation. Taking our business to the next level of growth to deliver even better results for our clients and our team.

Tell us something about your organization. What is it about and how is it helpful for people?

My passion, work and philosophies focus on the joy factor, on self-acceptance, physical and emotional cohesion and authentic wellness and I enjoy sharing my wisdom for all that is connected to a successful and healthy life. My foundation in health comes from witnessing a global need to help combat stress and boost health with a holistic approach. Gone are the days of manuals and dark rooms. Our programmes are robustly researched and my passion is to share these worldwide. I am a Personal Trainer, Nutrition Coach, Behavior Change Specialist, Long Covid Rehabilitator, Hormone and Stress Specialist, Pre and Post Natal specialist, Health for Business Coach, published author of three globally selling books and the creator and facilitator of The Self-Health System™ and Chan6e 6 Step Coaching System™. I have worked in the health and fitness industry for many years, holding certifications across a gamut of training and I have been accredited in many areas & nominated for awards in both Mental & Physical Health.

Anyone who knows me knows that I don’t support diets of any kind. It may seem like an anomaly coming from a health and fitness coach in the times that we’re living in, but all I’ve ever promoted is simply conscious eating. And yet, delivered lifetime results for myself and my clients. I’m an unapologetic vocal champion of using our common sense and un-complicating the act of eating. The idea is to empower you to follow a healthy lifestyle as a way of life and not just when you are ‘on’ a diet. I’ve met, heard and experienced how the so-called diets crash and burn way too many times. Do not get into something if you cannot follow through. My approach is to find your body-fit happy place, not to desensitize your senses or kill you with a set of bone-breaking exercises. Once you learn that weight loss is very much possible without feeling overwhelmed and enjoying food freedom, there’s no turning back.

The Health and Fitness Coach was started to provide a radically different approach to women’s health. Women have so many energetic pulls on their bodies and minds, so many responsibilities, that we wanted to create a company that helped women simplify their health, taking ownership of it and being empowered to NEVER need another weight loss programme or diet again. Our approach is based on one simple phrase: You don’t need to lose weight to be happy, you need to be happy to lose weight. The company provides 1 to 1 and group coaching as well as annual retreats and business to business wellbeing seminars, workshops and events. It is a company run by women for women as, although men need just as much support in their health and weight, we want to have a PHD in our clients. We want to understand every single problem, hormonal imbalance, struggle and challenge that our clients face so that we can help them understand the right way to overcome it for them. Men and women need different types of coaching, support and areas of focus, and we want to excel at what we do. As the Health and Fitness Coach, I have three globally selling books, write for an international magazine and am on a mission to help women all over the globe feel as mentally and physically healthy as they can. We are so stressed, so under pressure that we forget the art of living. So many women are devoid of the true fulfillment they are searching for and so their body suffers. I want to help them to create an extraordinary life of passion. When we do this we cannot help but start to lose weight and find lifelong health.

My signature systems are designed to connect you to foundational learning and self-awareness to guarantee an ongoing nourished and healthy, dynamic life. Physical and mental complacency is not an option. We must reflect, learn, nurture and grow. You will never move your body or engage your brain the same way again.

While the global pandemic of COVID-19 is associated primarily with adversities, it has also brought about a true boom in startups, with successful entrepreneurship in many countries. The pandemic has impacted all of us in one way or another. Would you like to share your experience on a personal and professional level?

The pandemic had a fantastic effect on the business. I went from having the ability to see clients face to face to online only, which meant I had to stretch myself in how to help people create change with more self accountability – I wasn’t there with them in the gym. This meant that I studied further the depths of human psychology and understanding of how to create permanent habit change. It meant I had to up my gain and have benefited my clients enormously. They now don’t need me to be there with them to guide them, they are learning how to create change within themselves.

Personally, my youngest son was born during the pandemic in April 2020. He was born clinically dead and remained in hospital for 4 months. I chose to stay with him, but due to restrictions, this meant I was not allowed to see my husband or other 2 children for the whole time. My youngest son was on a ventilator, had seizures, multiple organ failures, and was not expected to live. Being alone through this experience with him, unable to hug or be near my loved ones, was the hardest time of my life. But my son survived, a miracle that the doctors cannot explain. We got to bring him home. It changed my view on life, on gratitude, on priorities and love. It was the most pivotal moment in teaching me what truly matters in life.

What has been the response of the consumers towards your venture?

We have won the Global Award for Most Empowering Women’s Health & Fitness Company 2022

Clients love our approach, because there has been a change in the way they see health and fitness. The changes we have seen have been from the days of women wanting the rock hard abs look, to wanting a balance of mental wellbeing and physical fitness. Energy has become a key indicator of fitness for many, rather than the days of watching instafamous 20 year olds in bikinis. Many clients now are looking for more than just looking fit, they are wanting a whole life approach through mental and emotional wellbeing as well as energy to be more productive at work, more present with their families. The biggest changes since the pandemic, but even before that have been a new understanding of what health means. It means less stress, less pain, less work, more balance. It means treating your body with the same respect that you would treat a meeting at work and so priorities have shifted. No more do people feel they HAVE to go to a gym because fitness no longer means just physique – people are starting to realize how unique they are and how unique their body is. This is why no program is ever exactly the same. I would never produce a cookie-cutter program, because no two women fit into the same mould. We also focus on a holistic approach – because you cannot tackle weight and fitness without also recognising changes that need to be made in family, work and relationships.

How has your life changed because of your venture?

I have a purpose. A mission. A reason to be. I know why I am here on this planet. I know what I was meant to do. It has given me the ability to never work again – because when you love what you do, it isn’t work. Yes it is hard. Yes it can be stressful. yes it doesn’t always workout the way you want. But I have discovered that following every failure is a success. Which means I run towards failure because I know what will be coming next. It has helped me grow as a human being and each client I work with, I learn from. Each woman teaches me something about who I am.

Would you like to share with our young budding women entrepreneurs the change you would like to see in the world if given an opportunity?

When I’ve asked people before the question “have you ever failed in your health or weight loss journey?“, the next question I ask is, “when you failed in the past, why did you fail?” And this is where you hear people’s stories emerge. Stories are the reason people fail to achieve success and greatness, because we all have stories about why we can’t. Why we haven’t. Why we fail. But I want to tell you right now, change your story, change your life. We all have a story about why we are where we are. If you’re not where you want to be in your life in some area, like maybe your body’s great but your finances aren’t, or your finances great but your relationship sucks; whatever the bottom line is you’ve got a story why it is that way, and the story we tell ourselves protects us from pain. It gives us a reason why it’s not our fault or why it’s going to be okay in the future. But the story that protects us also imprisons us. It keeps us from changing our life. I would like to help everyone in the world create an empowering story that enables them to be ultimately healthy and happy in their body permanently. I reach my own clients – but 8 billion people is a lot of lives to touch.

Give a motivational message for the audience/women who are reading this.

Good times create weak people. Weak people create bad times. Bad times create strong people. Strong people create good times. My whole thing is leaders anticipate, losers react. If you can anticipate what’s coming you can really take advantage.
