What were your initial years of growing up like? Tell us about your life before starting your corporate journey/venture/initiative.
I hail from the former Yugoslavia, a land that exists only in memories now. In the midst of a civil war, we endured economic sanctions, poverty, and 78 days of relentless bombing. In the sheltered depths of underground basements, I made a solemn promise to myself: I would strive for freedom and dedicate my life to helping others pursue their passions, empowered by their own liberty.
I graduated in Business Information Technologies from the Faculty of Economics and spent nearly 15 years as a programmer. I was also deeply engaged in NGO activities, working towards fostering peace in the Balkans. My book, ‘Live from Your Heart and Mind,‘ defied the odds by becoming a bestseller in the USA on its release day, after enduring 246 rejections from various agents and publishers. The rest, as they say, is history.
Today, I proudly helm my own business, all thanks to the power of LinkedIn. My mission is simple: to guide and inspire individuals to successfully pursue their passions.
Every industry that is now a large-scale, top-notch business once started as a small idea in the minds of entrepreneurs. What was that idea or motivation that made you start your business /initiative? What motivated you within to say YES, go for it!”
My life became my purpose. If a girl from a small nation, who once faced the fact that she must hide in an underground shelter, can attain her deepest aspirations, then anyone can. Rooted in values of Love, Integrity, and Kindness, I staunchly believe in our capacity to break free from any system’s constraints, embracing the essence of being true to ourselves and pursuing what we genuinely love. This, in its purest form, embodies freedom.
Would you like to share with our young budding women entrepreneurs the change you would like to see in the world if given an opportunity?
I envision a world where every individual lives in profound freedom and heightened awareness. In this shared consciousness, we recognize our common origin, the essence of love that unites us all. It’s imperative that we nurture one another, healing our inner selves to transcend conflicts. Through LHM Academia, I’m constructing a learning ecosystem accessible to all, fostering personal growth and empowering aspiring entrepreneurs in our collective journey ahead.
Women are a growing force in the workplaces worldwide, standing shoulder to shoulder with their male counterparts. There are cracks in glass ceilings everywhere, with many women breaking through to carve out a space right at the top of the pyramid. What are your thoughts about women leadership today?
The call for women in leadership arises from the need for empathy, understanding, and compassion. It’s a call for heart-centered leadership, one that transcends the ego-driven, masculine way that often fuels conflicts. What our world requires is the nurturing, kind leadership that embodies the feminine way.
What’s the most important thing you have learned in your personal life and professional journey? What is your personal motto in life?
Everything is temporary. Everything is relative. Don’t make the mistake of thinking that you have unlimited time. Be aware that you don’t know when the end of your life will come. And thus live your life like everyday’s your last.
With your grit and determination, you are making a considerable impact, breaking through, and serving as role models for many budding entrepreneurs. What would you want to say to our young women leaders/audience reading this?
You are enough. You can do it! This world needs YOU!
