Before you became the business titan you are today, enlighten us about the thrilling adventures of your pre-business life.

Before embarking on my current journey as a coach, speaker and podcaster. I served as an adjunct lecturer at NAFA, Singapore’s pioneering arts institution, where I had the opportunity to contribute to the development of creative minds. Additionally, I was a partner in one of Singapore’s premier boutique tailoring houses, a multi-award-winning establishment renowned for its commitment to excellence.

During this phase, my role took me across the region, where I had the honor of teaching and training industry professionals in various countries, including China, India, and Vietnam. These experiences not only broadened my perspective but also allowed me to contribute to the growth and development of the industry on an international scale. They were formative years that greatly influenced my approach to leadership and entrepreneurship today.

Could you elaborate on the nature of your initiative/ business/current role, highlighting its purpose and the ways it benefits people?

Today, I am an award-winning leadership coach, international speaker, and podcaster. The heart of my work revolves around empowering coaches, leaders and entrepreneurs in developing unshakable confidence to build a Rockstar personal brand, gain worldwide exposure, and earn recognition for their expertise—just like how I did it myself. Starting from scratch, I transformed from nobody to the confident leader I am today.

My diverse experience as a young lecturer, team leader, and business owner has provided me with a keen understanding of what it takes to become a confident, visible, and impactful leader in today’s dynamic world. My personal journey, which involved turning depression into empowerment and building my brand globally in just two years, inspired the creation of a proven roadmap called “Rookie to Rockstar.” This program empowers my clients to accelerate their confidence, visibility, and impact, enabling them to show up and lead with joy, as I believe we all have a story to tell, a call to serve, and a purpose for being here.

Having a strong support system is essential for your well-being. We would love to know who your biggest supporter is. Share with us and let’s celebrate the amazing people in our lives who make a positive impact.

The truth is, entrepreneurship is really a lonely journey. And there were many moments when I just wanted to throw in the towel. In those times, it wasn’t some big cheering squad that kept me going – it was me, myself, and I.

Let’s face it, not everyone gets what you’re trying to do. And that’s okay because, honestly, it’s your unique purpose. How can you expect someone else to totally get it? So, when it comes to having my back, my biggest supporter has been me. Dealing with self-doubt, fear, uncertainty, anxiety, multiple failures… and all the ups and downs of this journey we called entrepreneurship – I had to push through it all.

Because no one will do it for you, and no one CAN do it for you. It’s within our power to create the future WE WANT.

As a young woman entrepreneur, what changes do you hope to see in the world and what opportunities are you seeking?

I aspire to break down the barriers that make entrepreneurship feel like a lonely road, especially for young women. I want to see a world where everyone, regardless of gender, feels empowered to pursue their dreams without the weight of societal expectations holding them back.

My experiences have taught me the importance of self-empowerment, especially in the face of challenges unique to the entrepreneurial path. I envision a future where young women, like myself, can find strength within, overcoming self-doubt, fear, and societal pressures.

In creating opportunities, I’m providing a platform for other leaders and entrepreneurs to share their voice, message and stories with the world, which is why I started podcasting (and have more than one podcast today).

I’m also actively building my own community, fostering a safe and empowering space where entrepreneurs, particularly young women, can show up and thrive. I want my journey to be a beacon of hope, encouraging them to pursue their dreams confidently, knowing that they truly can become who they have always dreamed about becoming.

Women now stand shoulder-to-shoulder with men in the workplace, breaking through glass ceilings to reach the top. What are your thoughts on women’s leadership today?

I believe that women bring a unique perspective to leadership – one that is empathetic, collaborative, and resilient. It’s not about competing with men; it’s about complimenting each other’s strengths to create more dynamic and inclusive workplaces.

However, the journey is not without its challenges. Even though we’ve come a long way, there are still remnants of gender bias and stereotypes that persist. We need to continue dismantling these barriers and creating spaces where women feel not only accepted but celebrated for their leadership qualities.

I’m a firm believer in mentorship and support networks for women in leadership roles. We need to lift each other up, share our experiences, and pave the way for the next generation of female leaders. It’s not just about reaching the top; it’s about reshaping the landscape so that the journey to the top is smoother for those who come after us.

In essence, women’s leadership today is about embracing diversity, championing equality, and creating a workplace culture that thrives on the unique strengths and perspectives that women bring to the table. I’m excited to be a part of this transformative era, where we redefine and expand the narrative of what leadership looks like, breaking down barriers for ourselves and making the world a better place for all.
