Since then I have become an award-winning storytelling expert, a renowned TedX speaker, and an internationally recognized authority on public speaking. My work touched the lives of countless women, transforming their fear into courage and their insecurity into self-assurance.”
What were your initial years of growing up like? Tell us about your life before starting your corporate journey/venture/initiative.
Once upon a time, in the magical city of London, I embarked on an extraordinary journey at theatre school. Little did I know that destiny had a different plan in store for me. Life took an unexpected turn, transforming me into a fierce single mother. Determined to make a difference in the world, I ventured into the realms of the charity sector, dedicating my heart and soul to empowering vulnerable communities. Oh, the exhilaration of giving voice to those who had long been silenced! For two decades, I immersed myself in this noble pursuit, until fate dealt me a cruel blow. As an illness swept me off my feet, I found myself not only a mother, but also a grandmother. Bound to my bed for what felt like an eternity, I yearned to break free and reignite the fire within me. And then, as if touched by a sprinkle of magic, a sudden epiphany dawned on me. It was time to reclaim my power and forge my own path once again. With a heart brimming with courage, I seized the opportunity to embark on a new adventure – starting my very own business. The freedom to work on my terms, whenever and however I pleased, seemed like the key to unlocking a world of endless possibilities. And so, my dear friends, this is the tale of resilience and determination. A story that reminds us that even in the face of adversity, we hold the power to rewrite our own destiny. Every industry that is now a large-scale, top-notch business once started as a small idea in the minds of entrepreneurs. What was that idea or motivation that made you start your business /initiative? What motivated you within to say YES, go for it!”
One day, as I pondered my own talents and passions, my incredible husband made a surprising observation: I had a gift for gab. Intrigued, I began attending Toastmasters, honing my speaking skills and building confidence. Along my journey, I crossed paths with inspiring female entrepreneurs who confided in me their terror of public speaking. It was in that eye-opening moment that I knew I held a valuable secret, a transformative power waiting to be unlocked.
Tell us something about your initiative or current role. What is it about, and what impact are you trying to make?
In a world where amazing stories are waiting to be told, I have embarked on a thrilling journey of specialising in the captivating art of storytelling within the realm of business. But here’s the catch – these awe-inspiring tales often go unheard, especially when it comes to the remarkable achievements of women. It seems that women, with all their incredible accomplishments, are just too humble to toot their own horns. Well, I’ve made it my noble mission to change that. It’s time to shine a spotlight on the fearless women in business and generously share their extraordinary stories with the entire world. Join me in this empowering adventure as we let their voices be heard!
Your journey and your vision are very inspiring, but are there any achievements or accomplishments you would like to mention?
Wow, can you believe it? Despite all the challenges and uncertainties that have come my way, I am still standing tall after all these years. It’s been one wild rollercoaster ride, filled with moments where I questioned if all the blood, sweat, and tears were truly worth it. But let me tell you, there are a few achievements that have made every hardship worthwhile. First off, let’s talk about the ultimate dream of every speaker out there – giving a Ted Talk. And guess what? I did it! Stepping onto that iconic stage, feeling the energy of the audience, and sharing my ideas with the world was an absolute dream come true. It was a magical moment that left me buzzing with excitement, and it reminded me why I embarked on this journey in the first place. But speaking engagements aren’t the only way I make an impact. Through my coaching, I’ve had the privilege of helping countless women confidently share their own stories and witness the incredible transformation it sparks in their businesses. It’s like witnessing a bird finally spread its wings and soar high in the sky – truly awe-inspiring. Seeing these women succeed and thrive gives me an indescribable sense of fulfillment and achievement. Now, let’s turn the spotlight onto my most precious accomplishments – my two amazing children and my delightful grandchildren. As a woman, nothing brings me more joy and pride than watching them grow, thrive, and make their own mark in the world. They are the living embodiment of the legacy I am building, and I couldn’t be happier. So, my friend, when I reflect on my journey and all the trials and triumphs, I can confidently say that these achievements, big and small, make it all worth it. They are the fuel that keeps me going, reminding me that every obstacle is just a stepping stone towards something greater. Life is an adventure, and I’m here to embrace it with open arms.
Would you like to share with our young budding women entrepreneurs the change you would like to see in the world if given an opportunity?
I envision a future where Social Media is a powerful tool, not only for connection and inspiration, but for genuine representation and honesty. No longer will we feel the burden of comparison or the fear of falling behind. Instead, we will celebrate the abundance of authentic content, fostering a community where truth prevails. In this utopia, businesses cease to hoard their expertise, eagerly extending a helping hand to women entrepreneurs worldwide. By breaking down the barriers of financial constraints, we level the playing field, allowing even the most passionate and driven women to chase their dreams without drowning in a sea of expenses. Yet, our ultimate desire lies in the gift of education, granted freely and readily accessible to every woman on this planet. No longer shall we allow limited resources or societal constraints to hinder the growth and potential of our female counterparts. We shall empower and uplift, providing the necessary tools and knowledge for women to flourish, ultimately shaping a brighter future for all. So let us come together, hand in hand, as we strive for an online community brimming with truth, generosity, and boundless opportunities. Women are a growing force in the workplaces worldwide, standing shoulder to shoulder with their male counterparts. There are cracks in glass ceilings everywhere, with many women breaking through to carve out a space right at the top of the pyramid. What are your thoughts about women leadership today?
In recent years, the world has witnessed a remarkable shift in the gender dynamics of leadership roles. More and more women are breaking barriers and assuming positions of power and influence across various sectors. This paradigm shift has had a profound impact on society, leading to positive changes and transforming the world as we know it. The growing presence of women in leadership roles is reshaping the world as we know it. Through their determination, resilience, and expertise, they are challenging norms, fostering diversity, and driving positive change. As we continue to support and empower women in leadership, we can look forward to a more equitable, inclusive, and prosperous future for all.
