Kimberly Trefilek

Kimberly Trefilek tells us that, “I am passionate about connecting with others, traveling and helping others live well. I have this unique ability to understand others in depth and see broader perspectives, which helps me be able to effectively guide others in their journey.  I love all things wellness, real estate, being in nature, experiencing new adventures, as well as teaching personal development. I believe self-care plays an important part in being successful and I make it my mission to show others how it’s so beneficial, especially through my wellness retreats. I’m so excited to serve others in my upcoming self-care retreat in Greece July 19-26, 2024!”

What were your initial years of growing up like? Tell us about your life before starting your corporate journey/venture/initiative.

I was blessed to grow up in a loving and supportive household. My parents were very hard workers and sacrificed a lot to give my siblings and me a good life.  While we were well off and they provided greatly for us, my parents did a wonderful job of teaching us the value of money and to be grateful for what you have. As we grew older they would buy us what we needed, but if it was something extra like the newest style of clothes or a cell phone, we were required to get a job and be able to pay for it ourselves. They were always ready to lend a helping hand when we needed while at the same time teaching us how to solve our own problems. While we didn’t always share the same ideals, I felt safe and supported in being my true self which has helped me in my success.  My parents were my role models and still who I confide in to this day.  And on top of it, my mom was an entrepreneur having her own business so I would say entrepreneurship is in my blood.

Even in my early years of childhood, I always had this thought that anything is possible and that I can always be, do and have whatever I want. I feel I was born with it and this has shown true throughout my life.  I would follow my heart with every goal and usually achieved it. Whether it was in sports, education or my career. If I wanted something, I went out and got it and didn’t let anything get in my way. I was always very active in sports, such as soccer and enjoyed being outdoors and engaging in physical activities, which had led to my later career in health and fitness. I was a talker and loved to socialize and talk to everyone. It was one of my teacher’s main complaints about me, but this desire to connect to others that got me in trouble in school has contributed to my current success. I also loved writing and reading. I’ve written in journals since I could write and still do so every morning. This has helped me grow in my personal development and develop my passion in personal growth, which allows me to better help those in the wellness and real estate industry.

I’ve learned that every trait, every experience good or bad and every skill learned throughout life has a purpose.  If you can become aware of them with appreciation and learn how to utilize them it can benefit you greatly on your entrepreneurial journey. Appreciate your unique abilities, they are what set you apart and become your niche.

Tell us something about your initiative/business. What is it about and how is it helpful for people?

My brand is Live Well with Kimberly. I guide others in living well, specifically in the areas of health, home and happiness.  Through my knowledge of real estate, wellness and mindset I’m able to guide others to their goals by helping them get crystal clear, removing any obstacles standing in the way and aligning them with their desires. My most recent venture has become designed around self-care. I began hosting self-care retreats because throughout my career I have realized that the biggest problem most people I’ve worked with have is that they put themselves last.  Being a travel enthusiast, I also couldn’t believe how many people (who have the means to) do not take a vacation or time for themselves to enjoy all the fruits of their labor.  Self-care is a huge part of achieving success and it’s my mission to help people see that and learn how to implement it.  If you don’t take care of yourself, you cannot take care of anyone else. Through these retreats I am able to combine my passion of travel and teaching to help attendees leap into alignment through self-care, adventure and fun in order to restore their energy, zest for life and serve others authentically from a full cup!

While the global pandemic of COVID-19 is associated primarily with adversities, it has also brought about a true boom in startups, with successful entrepreneurship in many countries. The pandemic has impacted all of us in one way or another. Would you like to share your experience on a personal and professional level?

During the pandemic, I was furloughed and out of work for months because all of my jobs had ceased.  It was during this time that all of my mindset and spiritual work I had done for myself truly showed because I was able to maintain a positive outlook and turn inward to reflect on how the hardship of this pandemic could actually benefit me.  Through that inner work, I was able to see that I was very burnt out and realized that the way that I was working was burning the candle at both ends and slowly destroying me. Not to be dramatic, but I was so exhausted and grateful for the break that lockdown gave me. I didn’t even want to engage with anyone, I became a hermit and enjoyed my own space and the rest so much.  During this time, I was able to get clear that there is a better way to be a thriving business owner. I realized the true importance of self-care and the mental and emotional aspects of health that people have a tendency to push aside. Through this I was able to find an authentic way to build my business back up where I was able to take care of my clients and myself. I also recognized that I can still passionately serve others even from a virtual space, such as selling real estate over FaceTime or virtual training and mindset coaching.

Everything I learned during the pandemic contributed to the birth of my brand Live Well with Kimberly and shortly after my first self-care reset retreat was created so I could share with others the positive impact self-care has on your success.

What has been the response of the users/consumers towards your venture?

I’ve been featured in multiple publications, news media outlets and panels educating others on the importance of taking care of themselves, as well as highlighting the impact my wellness business has made in other’s lives.  My retreat has become a life changing event and most memorable experience for those who’ve attended and I look forward to helping create even more change in my upcoming self-care retreat in Greece this summer.

How has your life changed because of your initiative/venture?

I’ve become more fulfilled and feel more authentically aligned with my purpose.  There’s so many ways to build a good business or career, but it’s such a rewarding feeling seeing your dreams come to life. I’ve never felt more alive than I did during my first self-care retreat. I didn’t even want to sleep! I feel the same way when I guide my clients in achieving a wellness goal, purchasing their dream home or embodying self-love and mastering their self-care. The saying is so true that when you love what you do, it doesn’t feel like work. I wake up every day feeling blessed and happy knowing that what I do helps others and also creates a financially free life for me and my family. Of course there may be ups and downs and obstacles, but when you focus on the passion and desire to serve, the success comes naturally.  There are no rules in what you do or how you do it, as long as you believe in yourself, your mission and purpose and serve passionately.

Do you have anyone who is the biggest support system in your life? Please let us know.

My Fiancé is my biggest support. Being an entrepreneur sometimes requires taking big risks and no matter how scared I get or how many times I feel discouraged, he’s right by my side lifting me up and reminding me that I can do it. I remember when I held my first retreat and the significant investment it required, which would come from our joint savings. I would worry about how much we would lose if I didn’t fully fill it and the whole time he was reminding me that we will be okay and I deserve to follow my dreams. It meant the world to me and really made me feel safe to take the risk.  It was a successful retreat and now I’m hosting more retreats and seeing the dream I had for years come to life!

Would you like to share with our young budding women entrepreneurs the change you would like to see in the world if given an opportunity? OR Share a motivational message for the audience/women who are reading this.

I would love to see people live in the way we were intended by leading with love. More love for our work, for others, for the world and especially for ourselves. What you focus on grows so if we all lived in love and lead with love each moment the world would become a better, more peaceful place.  So when you feel fearful, or upset, wrapped up in egotistical thoughts, or self-critical ask yourself how can I choose love in this moment? Ask yourself each day how I can lead with more love today? How can I love myself more today? And before taking an action ask yourself is this an act of love? While change is a collective effort, it begins within each of us and we are all more impactful and more important than we may even know.
