Tell us about your life before the venture/ leading up to your venture?

Before starting my life coaching practice, I was in clinical practice.  In my specialty as a Maternal-Fetal Medicine physician, I cared for women with high-risk pregnancies.

Tell us something about your organization. What is it about and how is it helpful for people?

My organization is a solo life coaching practice.  My clients are women who are childless though they don’t want to be regardless of the reason – whether it is because of unsuccessful fertility treatments, pregnancy loss, aging out, choosing not to have a child because of a chronic illness or any other reason. Women in these situations often feel shame, “less than” and alone.  My coaching helps women to recognize there is no shame in being childless, that they are not “less than” but worthy whole women.  We work together to learn that being childless does not define them.  With my coaching they reach a place of understanding and being able to honor their sadness while still embracing the joy in their lives.

What has been the response of the consumers towards your venture?

My clients have said that I have changed their lives for the better – they are now able to manage situations that trigger them and they are able to enjoy their lives again.

I have given a TEDx talk (that will be released by TED in the near future): How to Harness the Power of “And” to Find Joy Along with Grief

I have also had an article written about me and published in LA Weekly: https://www.laweekly.com/dr-gail-miller-says-its-time-for-society-to-acknowledge-the-emotions-of-the-involuntarily-childlessness/

I have been published in KevinMD.com twice:

How has your life changed because of your venture?

It has become infinitely better because I am helping a group of women who have commonly been overlooked, and misunderstood and have had little to no support.  Knowing that I am empowering these women to recognize their innate value brings me joy.

Give a motivational message for the audience/women who are reading this.

Don’t let others’ expectations of you define you or your purpose.  You have innate worth.  Recognize your own value.
