Careeta Robert-Green
In 2010, Careeta Robert-Green became one of the youngest certified Life Coaches in the UK! She went on to launch an award-winning coaching business called Born with a GIFT. Born with a GIFT works with professionals/entrepreneurs to unwrap their goals, their gifts and their power through her unwrap your gift coaching framework. In addition, Careeta also has 10+ years in corporate, working in HR for some of the UK’s leading Fortune 500 /FTSE 100 companies such as BP, GSK and Dell. Careeta now coaches 100’s of professionals/entrepreneurs from around the world to unwrap their gifts and step into their power!
What were your initial years of growing up like? Tell us about your life before the venture/ corporate journey?
I grew up in inner city London and went to a girls school. I experienced not feeling good enough, low self esteem and always comparing myself to the other girls. I didn’t believe that I had a gift or anything special about me.
Every industry that is now a large-scale, top-notch business once started as a small idea in the minds of entrepreneurs. What was that idea or motivation that made you start your business/initiative? What motivated you within to say “YES, go for it!”
In 2010, there were not many young black, 24 year old females saying that they wanted to be a life coach and help people. The industry was mainly aimed at senior corporate executives who had 25+ years experience. Coaching helped me transform my life so I wanted to share it with other young professionals. I tried to find a job as a life coach but I couldn’t find many people who wanted to hire a 24 year old that was brand new to coaching! After a few months of job searching, I decided to set up my own business called Born with a GIFT.
Tell us something about your initiative or current role. What is it about, and what impact are you trying to make?
I am on a mission to share the positive message that we are all born with a GIFT! We all have special skills, talents and GIFTS that we can use to be successful. Most of the time we look at other people using their gifts and we don’t believe that we have any. During my coaching programmes I empower people to unwrap their gifts and step into their power.
Your journey and your vision are very inspiring, but are there any achievements or accomplishments you would like to mention?
I have won numerous awards as a young entrepreneur and life coach. I have coached 100’s people from around the world to unwrap their gifts and step into their power. I have done this in Schools, Universites, Companies and also for individuals. In the past 6 months I have had over 400,000 views on my Linkedin profile and over 200 people have attended my Unwrap Your GIFT online masterclass. I am also a Foster carer and have helped care for over 20 babies and children over the past 5 years with my family. I ensure that when we have young people living with us, they know that they are born with a GIFT and have something special within them.
Would you like to share with our young budding women entrepreneurs the change you would like to see in the world if given an opportunity?
I would like to see young women entrepreneurs unwrap their gifts and step into their power! There is no one in the world like you so celebrate and embrace your uniqueness.
Women are a growing force in the workplaces worldwide, standing shoulder to shoulder with their male counterparts. There are cracks in glass ceilings everywhere, with many women breaking through to carve out a space right at the top of the pyramid. What are your thoughts about women’s leadership today?
If you are somewhere where there is a glass ceiling above your head, then go somewhere else and build your own building. People try to dim your light so that you don’t shine, build your own building and tell them to buy some sunglasses if your light is to bright 🤩
What would you want to say to our young women leaders/audience reading this?
You are born with a gift! You have special skills, talents and GIFTS that you can use to be successful. Now is the time to unwrap your GIFTS!
