What were your initial years of growing up like? Tell us about your life before starting your corporate journey/venture/initiative.
I grew up in Canada with my sister on an acreage, so we played outside a lot. I was always a total extrovert and loved to be surrounded by people. I was friends with everyone and was involved in a lot of activities. I initially became a teacher and thrived in molding young lives. I taught until I started my own family and then focussed on being a momma. As my kids grew and my marriage became riddled with my husband’s mental health issues, I became aware that I needed to make some changes. Domestic violence was not behavior that I wanted my children to be exposed to any longer. I decided to remove us from the situation and begin to start our lives again. I wanted to be a voice for those who may be struggling with what I has experienced. I wanted to make a difference in relationships and equip those who needed the tools to navigate their journey. This is when I went back to school and started building a new dream to support others.
Every industry that is now a large-scale, top-notch business once started as a small idea in the minds of entrepreneurs. What was that idea or motivation that made you start your business /initiative? What motivated you within to say YES, go for it!”
I wanted to prevent the pain that I went through by educating others in their relationships.
Tell us something about your initiative or current role. What is it about, and what impact are you trying to make?
I am trying to keep families together and teach them skills to thrive and communicate effectively and to resolve conflict in a productive and respectful manner.
Your journey and your vision are very inspiring, but are there any achievements or accomplishments you would like to mention?
In 2020, I became an international best-selling author.
Would you like to share with our young budding women entrepreneurs the change you would like to see in the world if given an opportunity?
I would love to see every person educated with the tools to build healthy and lasting relationships.
Women are a growing force in the workplaces worldwide, standing shoulder to shoulder with their male counterparts. There are cracks in glass ceilings everywhere, with many women breaking through to carve out a space right at the top of the pyramid. What are your thoughts about women leadership today?
Seeing women in leadership fuels me to the core. Women have the innate capacity to change the world and it is exciting to watch in motion. I also am a firm believer in helping one another along the way; we are given two hands, one to help ourselves and one to help others.
